This cluster committee began in March, 2008. After receiving formation through reading Church documents, this group continues to create action steps in sharing our Catholic faith among parishioners, to new parishioners, to guests and family members. In addition, the committee is preparing ways in which to reach out to regular parishioners who seldom attend Mass. The focus of discussion and action has been:
The goal is to raise consciousness that the role of evangelizing or sharing faith belongs to every Catholic Christian. Personal contact is crucial. Cluster community meets monthly at 7:00 p.m. Contact the parish office (440-729-9575) for the time of the next meeting.
New parishioners are welcome at Saint Anselm. Each new individual or family is phoned about our monthly breakfast gatherings. Our Welcoming and Hospitality Committees provide a wonderful breakfast and short program for newcomers to the parish after 9:30 AM Mass once a month. After informal introductions, the committee shows a DVD about parish life and they and staff members answer questions about the parish. Registration, picture taking and saying the Disciples Prayer conclude the event. The Welcoming Committee stays in touch with new families at weekend liturgy and by phone.
Our parish hosts a variety of receptions, socials, retreats, educational functions and other events throughout the year. The Hospitality Committee graciously provides set-up and refreshments for these events.
