Mary, Mother of Jesus
Accounts of Mary, Mother of Jesus, are found in the Gospels of Matthew, Luke, and John and in the Acts of the Apostles.  From these brief accounts, a large Marian Tradition has developed and the Church has proclaimed her Virginity and Immaculate Conception.  Reflect on Mary’s attitude, “nothing is impossible with God,” on her awareness of his presence and on her prophetic voice.

John Paul II
Pope John Paul II was known as the people’s pope.  He spoke many languages and traveled the world connecting with everyday Catholics championing human rights. He was a moral leader on political-economic and social-cultural issues and met with many outcasts, even forgiving the person his would-be assassin.  Reflect on prayer, the sanctity of life and simplicity of living.

Mother Teresa of Calcutta
